Enjoy the Countryside
There are several country walks leading from the house that allow you to explore the picturesque surroundings. Take the stiff and challenging climb up to the Iron Age Hill Fort atop Norton Malreward which offers spectacular views. Or meander along the footpath at the end of our driveway to take walks along the River Chew. To the east your perambulations will take you under the magnificent National Heritage, Pensford Viaduct. Here you can visit the Miners Coffee Shop for some (more) home-made cake or sup a brew in the Rising Sun. To the west you will arrive in the village of Stanton Drew and visit the Stanton Drew Standing Stones, a henge once larger than Stonehenge. There you can visit the Druids Arms, where you are sure to receive a friendly welcome.
