Evenings at the SummerHouse are cosy and best spent enjoying planning the day ahead and watching roaming deer rustling through our vegetable patch. Our local pubs and restaurants offer a range of gourmet dining options.
During your stay at SummerHouse, you can take exclusive use of our onsite Spa facilities free of charge. Take your stay to the next level by relaxing in our jacuzzi and steam room after a long walk in the surrounding countryside. We offer fluffy robes, towels and slippers in addition to exclusive use of our facilities. Booking is required to secure your time in our Spa.
Enjoy the Countryside
There are several country walks leading from the house that allow you to explore the picturesque surroundings. Take the stiff and challenging climb up to the Iron Age Hill Fort atop Norton Malreward which offers spectacular views. Or meander along the footpath at the end of our driveway to take walks along the River Chew. To the east your perambulations will take you under the magnificent National Heritage, Pensford Viaduct. Here you can visit the Miners Coffee Shop for some (more) home-made cake or sup a brew in the Rising Sun. To the west you will arrive in the village of Stanton Drew and visit the Stanton Drew Standing Stones, a henge once larger than Stonehenge. There you can visit the Druids Arms, where you are sure to receive a friendly welcome.
